Today my school created a NE Learning Journey which allow sec 3 students to have an outdoor study. My class sec 3EA went to the Old Fort Factory where accumulates a lot of things that related with the Japanese occupation in Singapore.
When we reached there,we took the class photo in front of the factory with the help of the uncle who was the tour guide. He was very friendly to us.As the weather was quite cold, many students want to go to washroom.Even Ms Chan also wanted to go.We asked the uncle where the washroom was.Uncle directed us to the washroom, then Ms Chan,me and a few students competed with one another.Suddenly,Ms Chan said "i am teacher,so should go in first."When i walked faster than her,she asked why i walked so fast and faster than her.I immediately answered,"i am councilor mah, so can go in first also."Then Ms Chan started to laugh. After we finished our business, the sir led us to watch video.
The video was talking about 'Singapore was under the Japanese rule'.In 1942,Japanese came to Singapore with the air forces and their soldiers. The purpose was ask the British to surrender. Finally, British really surrender and the Japanese took over and control the whole Singapore for 3 years.During that period, people was suffered, every time people needed to look for food to survive.Singaporean were encouraged to learn Japanese instead of English or Chinese. After 3 years British took back Singapore from the Japanese. That was the end of the war,all Singaporeans were brought smile on their faces.
After that,Singapore started to choose the potential leaders to lead the country independently.During the LEE KUAN YEW talks,i like his one sentence which is 'if others want to help to defence our country,we say NO.WE CAN DEFENCE OURSELVES.
I want to admire all the potential leaders who could manage to build up Singapore become like today in a short period of time.I really hope that my country have more potential leaders help the the country develop.
